Well, long time since I've drawn something like this!
This is in honour of one of my first friends on dA, QuillElizabeth, previously known as tardis101 She came by after some time to say hi and to try and get me back into the TLK fandom, so here we are. ^^ I used her wonderful rendition of Ni's colour scheme and I think it works really well.
Ni was, and probably still is, my favourite character from the Lion King - Six New Adventures book series. He was a character in one of the stories. So, I tried drawing him as a cub. His character illustrations in the book are pretty much a skinnier Simba with a messier design and grubby colour palette. I used the Morning Report song as inspiration and reference. It brought back a lot of memories from over three years ago.

Technique ImpactLoving this! I'm a die hard lion king fan, the only reason I'm good at drawing lion noses and ears and paws haha. I love that you stuck to the style of the movie but always put some of yours into it, I like the dirt effect on the paws! That smile is priceless, a big dorky smile can always put a smile on my face. I can't do backgrounds to save my life, you did a great job and even fading it to actually look distant! Keep up the great work, would love to see more like this c:
