Splash! by SJArt117 Splash! by SJArt117
I wanted to draw ponies in water, and this is what I came up with! Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in Spring Sparkling Lake.

Another mixed media piece. Ponies originally sketched on paper, then drew them in mspaint. Added a few splashes, droplets and water n' sand in Artweaver...and poured a load of sparkles in for 20% more happiness! The effects, such as shading and lighting are done in Artweaver.

I do hope you like it.

EDIT: Added sunlight! AND 20% more sparkles!
EDIT 2: Taken away 5% sparkles!

Boy, you really went to town on that "Magic Dust" tool, eh?
Lemme start with the positives:
This is a nice pic. The water looks cool and refreshing :) Makes me wanna join them. And Fluttershy looks like she's having fun. You made that very clear with her expression and pose. The highlights on their manes and tails are pretty good. And the shading is nice and smooth.
Now, some negatives:
I feel you could've used a different focal point, with Fluttershy at a 3/4 angle and Dashie jumping across the pic, but that's just an idea. It could use a little more "energy," y'know? It looks like the two are playing together, but I can't see Dashie's face. That sort of takes away from the cheerful mood this is supposed to set. If I could see her happy expression, it would greatly add to the mood. Right now, it almost looks like Fluttershy is trying to get her attention.
As for shading, what looks like the sun over the water, at the point in the background it is in now, it would make the ponies look more silhouetted, with the top edges of their bodies being highlighted. The sun could be moved up more. And the darkest part of the shading could be darker. Plus, there needs to be at least a bit of shadow in the water below Fluttershy. I guess you could just make the darkest parts a titch darker. The highlights are fine. And one last thing: I like the use of sparkles on the water, but I think you could use a bit less sparkles on Dashie and Fluttershy. Their manes would be soaked, so most, if any of the sparkles on the ponies should be on their manes and tails.
Sheesh, that was long. Overall this is a cheerful, refreshing pic, but it has room for improvement.
